Brow Lamination | A beauty trend that's staying put!

Brow lamination is one of the latest innovations in the beauty scene.

Brow lamination began trending in 2020. It has swept through beauty centres all over the globe and seems to be here to stay! It is available now at Jamele Skincare.

In this blog-post, Jamele Skincare therapist, Jess Allerby, brings us up to speed on what this new brow treatment is all about.

Jess says of her experience with brow lamination:

“I love transforming my client’s brows. They have been really happy with the results. I also love how good it makes my own eyebrows look! They are a lot thicker and the tint lasts longer than usual.”

Jess, what is brow lamination?

Brow lamination straightens unruly or downward-growing brow hairs and makes brows naturally fuller and easier to style.

How does it work?

Brow lamination uses a chemical solution to straighten brow hairs. This allows your beauty therapist to realign your brow hairs before setting – or laminating – the brow hairs in place. Combined with brow tinting and shaping, lamination delivers a fuller, defined brow shape that remains in place. The effects last for six to eight weeks.

What are the benefits of brow lamination?

Though it is perhaps best known for taming wild brows, brow lamination provides an elegant solution for brow challenges at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Brow lamination is a welcome relief for people with naturally thick or bushy eyebrows who tend to have stubborn stray hairs with a mind of their own! But it is also a beneficial treatment for filling out brows that are thin and sparce – something that occurs with age or over-plucking.

Brow lamination helps to fill in any gaps and gives a fuller looking brow without the need for make-up. It also lifts the brow arch for a more youthful appearance. This makes brow lamination appealing to teenagers and great-grandmothers alike.

What is brow lamination suitable for?

  • Unruly or coarse eyebrows.

  • Stubborn natural hair growth patterns.

  • Sparse or thinning eyebrows.

  • Clients who are growing out their eyebrows.

  • Lifting the brow area for a more youthful appearance.

  • Adding texture to cosmetically tattooed eyebrows (must be completely healed, 4 weeks post).

Does it hurt?

The brow lamination process is painless. The whole procedure includes brow tinting and brow waxing/shaping, which can sometimes cause some redness and minor discomfort. If this occurs, we use soothing creams and cover with make-up if necessary.

How long does the effect last?

Brow lamination lasts 6-8 weeks. Depending on your brow style preferences you may need a brow tint top up in between each lamination treatment.

What after care is needed?

It’s important to keep your brows dry for 48 hours after your brow lamination. After wetting them, it is necessary to gently brush them back into place.

An after-care product is required to reinforce the newly shaped brow hairs after a Brow Lamination treatment. We use Eleeplex Advanced Aftercare, which doubles as a brow nourishing and styling product for home care. We stock this in the salon.

How much does it cost?

Brow lamination, tint and shape (45min) $75
Brow lamination, tint, shape and eyelash tint (60min) $100
