in loving memory of Pat Foster

from motheR

Jamele Skincare came into the Foster family on January 18th, 1986. Pat’s passion for natural health led her to embrace a holistic approach to professional skincare decades before that trend became mainstream

At age 48, Pat went to Adelaide for two years to study beauty therapy under renowned naturopath Jan Smith, who went on to found Janesce Skincare. Upon her return to Tauranga, Pat spotted a beauty clinic for sale, and with a vision for what it could become, snapped it up. Many of her clients from the 1980’s are still Jamele clients to this day

Pat retired on her daughter Shelley’s property in Pyes Pa and enjoyed hearing about Jamele and her clients up until she passed away on 9th Feb, 2021, aged 85

Shelley absorbed her mother’s natural health philosophies from a young age. “Mum always had things bubbling and brewing away in the fridge,” she says

When Shelley moved to Tauranga in 1990, she became part of the Jamele team. In 1998, Pat handed the reins to Shelley who has continued her mother’s work for the last few decades

Shelley is the owner of Jamele Skincare. She has recently handed over day to day running of the clinic to Kirsty Martin

“Kirsty is the closest thing I have to a daughter! (Jeff and I having five sons between us) With her 18-year relationship with Jamele I know she is the right person to carry on my mother’s legacy. The ethos and philosophy of Jamele is written into her DNA. I know the clinic is in good hands”

Aanya enjoys quality time with family and friends, reading and being creative when the opportunity arises

“I love working with my clients to help them achieve their skin goals. My favourite skincare range is Environ. It is by far the best anti-ageing range with loads of options for customising skincare and salon treatments to individual clients”
